Dear Governor,
Especially these days, when Israel and world Jewry are enduring a painful period, Tel Aviv University’s 2024 Board of Governors Meeting provides an unparalleled opportunity to gather, support one another, and learn how – together – we can help Israel triumph and rebuild. Our ongoing commitment to research and education is more important than ever for advancing urgent national priorities.
We believe that this year’s program will inspire you. Many sessions will provide an insider view of the Israel-Hamas war, from strategic lessons and the economy to TAU’s tech contribution to the battlefield. We’ll meet some of the brave TAU students who served on IDF reserve duty and hear their moving stories. And, during our post-BOG daytrip, we’ll tour an Israel Air Force base and be privately briefed by senior commanders.
Other activities include visits to top labs across campus, prize ceremonies, inaugurations, expert symposia – including on antisemitism, and a festive concert by students of the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
Finally, we will be marking the tremendous contribution of TAU to the war effort – heartwarmingly supported by TAU’s Governors and Friends through the Iron Swords Emergency Fund, as well as charting the University’s path moving forward.
