Dear Governors and Friends,
We are thrilled to invite you to the 2026 Tel Aviv University Board of Governors Meeting, taking place October 25 – November 1, 2026 – a gathering that promises to be our most uplifting and inspiring yet. This year, we are celebrating TAU’s 70th anniversary, and we can’t imagine marking this milestone without you. After two challenging years, your support is carrying our community forward. As Israel looks ahead with renewed optimism, we’re preparing a Board meeting filled with celebration, discovery, and meaningful moments – a true homecoming.
The week’s program is packed with opportunities to experience TAU’s energy and excellence, including:
- A festive opening event launching our 70th celebrations
- Lab tours showcasing our most exciting breakthroughs
- A campus tour that reveals the secrets behind our award-winning art & architecture
- Up-close-and-personal meetings with our resilient students
- The always insightful and distinguished Gandel Forum on the Middle East
A highlight of the week will be the Honorary Degrees Conferment Ceremony, where we will proudly celebrate exceptional laureates from a wide range of fields – including Steve Witkoff, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, for his unwavering efforts to bring Israel’s hostages home; Einav Zangauker, who fought relentlessly to bring her son and the hostages home; and Rachel Shapira, an Israeli songwriter and poet whose lyrics helped define modern Hebrew song.
A magical outdoor celebration, “TAU at 70: Celebrating Nation-Shaping Excellence and Recognizing Major Benefactors” will close out the week. It will be a night dedicated to gratitude, community, and looking boldly toward the future.
We can’t wait to welcome you back – to Tel Aviv University, to Israel, and to a celebration worthy of 70 extraordinary years.
Warmest regards,
